Change of weather and festival season starts from the month of October. So, preparing for coming winters and festivals are the main activities of homemakers during this month. We have to stay indoor for most part of day during winters so it is necessary to thoroughly clean the house to get rid of insects/pests hiding in the house. Fill in all cracks/holes on the walls and floors of kitchens, bathrooms and of all rooms of your house with cement or plaster of pairs so that insects/pests do not find anyplace to hide. If there is any plan of white washing of house, get it done in the beginning of this month, because near Diwali festival, labour is not easily available and rate of labour also increases. During cleanliness drive, dispose of all old, unserviceable and unusable household-articles like kitchen tools, utensils, empty bottles, jars, tins, newspapers, magazines, children's toys, their under sized garments and shoes etc. to minimize the clutter in house. Store cooler after cleaning, removing old pads and thoroughly drying, clean ceiling and table fans.
