Improved cotton varieties for Punjab

摘要

COTTON being an important khaiif crop of the Punjab, many Bt and non-Bt hybrids/ varieties have been recommended by Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana for genera! cultivation to be state. Ever since the introduction of Bt-cotton in Punjab incidence of boll worms has been reduced drastically. As a result, some of the farmers in cotton belt are getting very high yield from non-Bt varieties/hybrids comparable to Bt hybrids.
