Enhancing the yield of rabi oilseed

The major oilseed crops grown during rabi season are raya, gobhi sarson, taramira, African sarson, sunflower and linseed. The agro-climatic conditions in Punjab are congenial for the production of oilseed crops. Not only they play an important role incrop diversification but also help to improve the fertility of soil. The major oilseed crops grown during rabi season are raya, gobhi sarson, taramira, African sarson, sunflower and linseed. In India, rapeseed and mustard alone constitute 28 per cent of total production of oilseeds.
