The Autors discuss the use of laser direct ablation for high density applications in Substrate or PCB manufacturing and the system designed for these applications. Both Laser Structuring and Laser Direct Ablation technologies have been matured for industrial environment at Inboard (Karlsruhe/Germany). Both technologies have now proven their reliability under mass production conditions for a special USB connector product.
