The effect of soil tillage and of mineral fertilization on weed infestation of winter rye growing in monoculture.

Every year, weeds infesting winter rye growing under continuous cropping increase at the tillering stage and during harvest. Simplifying postharvest and presowing tillage increased the number of weeds especially at harvest time of winter rye. Applying glyphosate instead of skimming reduced the occurrence of Apera spica-venti only, which was the dominant weed species in the monoculture of rye.
