Pesticide residues in fruit and vegetables from south-eastern region of Poland.

In 2008 607 samples of fruit and vegetables from south-eastern Poland were surveyed. Pesticide residues were found in 173 (28%) of them, one substance in 102 samples and two or more in 71 samples. The most often were found: chlorpyrifos (4.9% of samples) of insecticides and dithiocarbamates (5.4%), captan (4.6%), pyrimethanil (5.1%), and procymidone (11.4%) of fungicides. Violations of MRLs were found in 4% of analysed samples.
