Diseases of wood in the mid-Pyrenees, Esca and BDA. National observatoire of wood diseases of the vine: 2004 results.

Wood diseases of grapevines were studied in France during 2003-04. During 2004, Eutypiose [Eutypa] was less frequent than in 2003, but esca [grapevine decline] and black dead arm [Eutypa] were more frequent and their symptoms were more marked. The percentage of plots with symptoms of Esca and/or black dead arm was 69.7% in 2004 compared with 61.5% during 2003.
