Based on data from the U.S.Department of Commerce, power plantconstruction spending, on an inflationadjusted basis, has improved throughout thefirst few months of 2015 as shown in thechart below. The fits and starts of economicgrowth since the recession, and the apparentdisconnect between what is publishedregarding economic growth and the reality onthe streets, has resulted in much of the powerplant work today being primarily driven byenvironmental factors and the replacement ofold, inefficient facilities.
