摘要

Poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) is a commercially significant polymer used among other applications in the manufacture of fibers, beverage bottles and photographic films. However it presents some problems associated with its low molecular weight and the presence of an increased number of carboxylic endgroups1-2. Low molecular weight affects the mechanical properties of the polymer, while carboxylic groups affect the hydrolytic and thermal stability leading to PET with low intrinsic viscosity.
