摘要

A method is proposed for measuring failure stressesand elastic modulus for a coating by means of four-point bendingwith precision deflection measurement. A composite has beenexamined having an Fe_(83)B_(17) coating on steel St3. Themoduli measured by this method are lower by factors of 2-3 thanthat for the steel. This is explained by the high porosity of coatingand weak cohesion of the coating particles.
