Sir—Endotracheal tubes (ETT) are used for facilitating ventilation during various surgical procedures performed under general anesthesia. However, sometimes manufacturing defects in ETT itself can lead to airway obstruction and difficulty in ventilation (1). Usually, the obvious defects of the ETT are discovered during routine inspection prior to their use. While the defects that are not very perceptible on inspection may go unnoticed and lead to partial or complete airway obstruction in an intubated patient (2,3).
