The use of ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia in a rural developing area in India for plastic and orthopedic operations.

Experiences of the use of ultrasound in developing countries for peripheral regional anesthesia were published in this journal (1). Studying these case reports and other review articles (2,3), we want to share the experiences we made in a rural part in India. There was no ethics committee to approach to cover this work. The place where the operations were performed was a small hospital located in northeast India run by a private nongovernmental organization that supplies medical treatment for the rural people in this developing area.
