IT is learnt the removal of Central sales tax (CST) on interstate transactions is still "an open question",according to Ramesh Chandra,member secretary,empowered committee on value added tax (Vat).CST is not only a means of revenue,it is an effective deterrent to tax evasion,he said at a conference organised by the All India Management Association (AIMA).
