Gary and Wendy Maguire run their pork producing operation, Glasshouse Country Farms, from their farm at Beerburrum in South East Queensland. Today the farm runs 800 sows and pigs are grown to 13 weeks before transfer to two other farms. One on the South Burnett for finishing and to cope with expanding production, another piggery has been leased in the Dalby area for the grow out phase. The story started for Gary when be became the farm's manager back in 1989 and subsequently bought a third share in the livestock and leased the property before acquiring outright ownership in 1999.
