Among the scientific papers presented at the 3rd World Mycotoxin Forum in 2005 was a review of the effects of these fungal toxins on poultry. There were also new ideas on mycotoxin control and an overlooked source of health dangers, as well as the launch of a new international society.The 3rd World Mycotoxin Forum was held in the Dutch seaside town of Noordwijk aan Zee in November last year. Reflecting the importance that mycotoxins have in the food industry worldwide, there were well over 200 participants from 35 different countries, including many from outside Europe.
