Instead of competing with the local Indian sweets market (mithaiwala) in Kolkata, Cadbury India (now part of Kraft Foods) has decided to join them by making sweets containing Cadbury Dairy Milk. Cadbury has encouraged some of the biggest and oldest sweet retailers in the city such as KC Das, Balram and Ganguram Sweets, to include Cadbury's chocolate in their offerings to drive consumption of its largest selling brand.
