Egyptian flexpack market still growing strongly

Egypt's still buoyant flexible packaging industry continues to stimulate high growth in substrate demand by Western standards, with leading converters re-stocking during Q1, 2009. One of Egypt's leading converters has seen its sales volumes grow by about 15% since October 2008 arising from supplying a new producer of packaged sugar and soon rice using PET (12 micron) / LDPE film (50 microns) structures. Standard pouches, sleeves and moulded plastic labels represent higher-value growth areas in the market.
