Study validates lifecycle advantages of plant-derived polymer clamshells over rPET

A first -of -its -kind lifecycle anlysis conducted by Germany's nstitute for Energy and Environmental Research (IFEU) has found that clamshell packaging made from Ingeo~(TM), a unique plant-derived biopolymer manufactured by NatureWorks emits fewer greenhouse gases and uses less energy when compared to clamshells manufactured with petroleuln-based PET (recycled polyethylene terephthalate).
