Western stake in Indian company

SMS Group company Battenfeld Extrusion and its US subsidiary American Maplan have jointly acquired a 14% stake in Kabra Extrusion.The Indian company,with whom Battenfeld has had a 20-year history,belongs to the Kolsite Group.Set up in 1984,Kabra has,under the collaboration with Battenfeld,produced and sold twin-screw extrusion lines for PVC and polyolefin pipes as well as compounding lines.At the Plastindia exhibition in February,the company showcased high output lines that had been produced under licence from Battenfeld.These included twin-screw PVC and HDPE pipe lines with outputs of 700-950 kg/hour.
