Dow Chemical lifts force majeure on MEG,DEG sales in N.America

Houston-Dow Chemical Company ended its force majeure and related volume allocation for monoethylene glycol and di-ethylene glycol sales in North America,a company spokesperson confirmed January 11.The company initially declared the force majeure on October 11,2007 following an unplanned outage at its 250,000 mt/year MEG and DEG facility at Seadrift,Texas.The force majeure was originally expected to last throughout the month of October but was then extended into December due to a shortage of ethylene oxide,a key intermediate in MEG production.
