China to add 10.58 million mt of ethylene capacity by 2010

Hong Kong-China plans to add 10.58 million mt/year of ethylene capacity by the end of its llth Five Year Plan period in 2010. Expansion and revamp of existing ethylene production facilities between 2006 and 2010 will contribute 4.38 million mt/year of the new capacity and construction of ethylene projects will add another 6.2 million mt/year,according to the mid- and long-term plans for the country's oil refining and ethylene industries.
