China to lift Guangdong ethylene capacity to 4.4-mil mt/yr by 2010

Singapore-Ethylene capacity in southern China's Guangdong province was expected to reach 4.4-mil mt/yr by 2010,up about 320% from its current capacity of 1.38-mil mt/yr in 2005,Guangdong provincial government said in a report on its five-year(2006-2010)petrochemical development plan.Aromatics capacity will be boosted to 3.4-mil mt/yr by 2010,a 22-fold leap from capacity of 150,000 mt/yr in 2005.
