Tokyo-Methanol prices in India surged in the last week of January,as smaller traders flocked into the market,industry sources said.The surge in demand pushed up spot prices by us35/mt to around us312.50/mt CFR India ports Jan 23,with traders scrambling for cargoes.Traders stepped into the market as several major suppliers were heard to have few spot molecules available for the month of February.
