China's PVC market plunges to five-month low as demand evaporates

Tokyo-Asian polyvinyl chloride market prices took another battering this week with buyers in China running further to the sidelines.Prices collapsed 80/mt in the benchmark China market to be hovering at around 1,125/mt CFR September 3.Prices have been on a downward spiral since early August,after PVC reached an historic high of 1,320/mt CFR China end-July.The last time prices were this low was on April 9 when prices were at 1,140/mt CFR China.
