Iran's NPC Zagros plant unlikely to supply methanol in Q1 2007

Iran's state-owned National Petrochemical Company is unlikely to be able to supply methanol from its new Zagros methanol plant into the international market during the first quarter of 2007,a source close to the company said January 9.Although NPC is targeting to start up its 1.7 million mt/year methanol plant at Assaluyeh (Zagros) by February,it will take time to run the plant smoothly and to produce on specification grade methanol,the source noted.
