Venezuela approves us3.3-bil in funding for petrochemical projects

Caracas-Venezuela has approved funds totaling more than us3.3-bil for the construction of half a dozen new petrochemical plants,part of a medium term plan to double output in the sector,President Hugo Chavez said Jan 20.The projects include new propylene and polypropylene plants at the El Tablazo complex in the western stat of Zulia,at a cost of us350-mil and us125-mil,respectively,Chavez said during a televised speech to businessmen in Caracas.
