POEs Rule in All-Terrain Roller Skate

Metallocene-based polyolefin elastomers (POEs) have achieved success as rubber modifiers in TPO compounds.Less well known are applications where POEs are used on their own as TPEs.In one recent example,a blend of two grades of Engage POEs from DuPont Dow Elastomers,Wilmington,Pel.,was chosen over mineral-filled flexible PVC for the wheel wear surfaces of the first "all-terrain"roller skates.Skorpion Extreme Quad Skates from New Zealand's Skorpion Sports Ltd.
