Larger Hybrid-Electric Presses from Japan

Two Japanese machine builders have come out with their largest hybrid-clamp machines yet.Mitsubishi Heavy Industries,the Japanese parent of MHI Injection Molding Machinery Inc.,Addison,Ill.,rolled out what it says is the world's largest hybrid-clamp press.Its model 3300em (3300 U.S.tons) employs an electric injection unit and two-platen hybrid-electric clamp,which uses hydraulics for final clamping in the center of the platen as well as for nozzle touch and core pulls.
