Broze seal reduces wear on gear pumps

A new gear pump for compounders uses high-strength bronze instead of stainless steel for the air-cooled seal.The new seal design from PSI Polymer Systems,Inc.in Hickory,N.C.,uses bronze's natural lubricity to reduce wear and save energy,PSI says.
