Food and consumer packaging was the focus of new developments in polyolefins and styrenics, while automotive was the main target for new engineering materials. There were plenty of novelties in both groups: Packaging entries included metallocene HDPEs for bottles and film and several brand-new types of polypropylene. On the automotive side, suppliers showed off new online paintagble automotive alloys, fuel-resistant nylons, and a host of other ABS, PC, nylon, and PBT materials for interiors, exteriors, and under the hood. There was also plenty of engineering-materials news to interest makers of electrical parts, applicances, business machines, and consumer goods.
