Temperature Probe for PET Preforms

Process setup and quality control on PET reheat stretch-blow molding lines can be enhanced with a new handheld temperature probe from Plastic Technologies, Inc. (PTI), Holland, Ohio. The PreTemp probe is designed to measure the interior temperature of preforms. This is said to be an important new capability because previous methods measure only the exterior temperature, leaving processors to make an educated guess about how much heat is driven through the preform wall.
