Peabody opens representative office in Jakarta, second in region

Peabody Energy of the US said it opened a representative office in Jakarta in Indonesia to be led by Reynard Hanoppo, who previously worked with Indonesian coal miner PT Kideco Jaya Agung. The office will expand business development and coal sourcing opportunities supporting regional operations centred in Singapore as the company boosts its global coal trading and brokerage activities which almost doubled its EBITDA contribution in 2008, said a statement dated October 8.
