US LLDPE offers this week were slightly higher with Westlake heard offering hexene at 57 cents/lb FAS, a price that appeared workable to South America, India and Israel. At that level, LLDPE butene would be near 56 cents/lb for bagged material FAS Houston. However the market was thinly traded as domestic prices commanded a premium to exports, and no confirmed deals were reported at time of publication. Supply was tight, with Formosa and a few other producers sold out. Additionally Dow was expected to have 5 LLDPE trains down from September to November, further tightening supply.
