The US low density spot export market was empty of material due to the relatively high cost of spot ethylene and higher priced domestic market. Prompt prices of spot ethylene remained over 70 cents/lb but the 3-30 day forward price was slightly lower. With monomer so high there was no way to compete against Asian LDPE offers into Latin America.
