As supply tightness has been reported due to production issues, US PVC export prices rose $30 this week. Though strong buy interest from India, Turkey, Egypt, and Eastern Europe was heard throughout the week, no deals were confirmed as bids did not correspond to US offers. Sources also reported difficulties finding resin in the US market."Everybody is short if you want to buy 500 tons today, there is no resin," one trader noted. Despite what some market sources mentioned, that Shintech was having some production issues and that was causing the resin shortage, one company source told Platts that its PVC plants were operating at full rates.
