Brazilian domestic ethylene contract prices for December fell 2% in dollars compared to November, a producer said. Prices fell due to changes in the Real to dollar exchange rate. Following the decrease, ethylene was being offered in Brazil at $1,230/mt FOB. Braskem reported a programmed maintenance shutdown of a cracker in Camacari for July 2010. The cracker, which produces 55% of Braskem’s olefins, should be under maintenance during 45 days. Ethylene plants in Brazil were reported working at 100% of capacity this week.
