US PET prices were set to rise 3 cents/lb in January on an expected jump in the PX CP. The PX contract did not settle yet but participants anticipated at least a $100/mt or 4.5 cents/lb increase. "We may see it (PX) go up more, considering the spot price," a PET producer said. The 3 cents/lb increase in resin prices would put January contracts at 78-79 cents/lb on the low end of the scale, a source said, with some smaller buyers already paying over 80 cents/lb delivered.
