Demand for ABS in the US remained strong, helping support prices near 120 cents/lb. Feedstock prices also were mostly higher, though there was some softening in the styrene monomer market. Variable costs for styrene monomer were estimated near 65 cents/lb, well below the 70 cents/lb spot levels seen last week. One source said by April, the monomer spot price could fall to 65 cents/lb if benzene continues to trend lower. The falling styrene was unlikely to impact the ABS price, though, sources said, as ACN values continued to climb.
