ABS producers were still seeing relatively strong demand this week, but were cautious about potential higher feedstock costs resulting in demand destruction. Tight acrylonitrile supplies have pushed those prices to $2,250/mt or higher, up $50 from last week. A source said acrylonitrile could surpass $2,300/mt in February because of expected turnarounds. Butadiene prices also continued to climb because of stronger synthetic rubber prices.
