Philippines JG Summit invests $600 million in new cracker project

Singapore-Philippines' JG Summit, a polypropylene producer, said Wednesday it would invest about $600 million to build a new naphtha-fed cracker in the country. The groundbreaking for the new cracker is expected to begin in January 2011 and commercial operations are due to start in late 2012. It will be located at Barangay Simlong, Batangas City, and have a production capacity of 925,537 mt/year.
