Oil Search bids to advance PNG project

Papua New Guinea-based Oil Search,majority stakeholder in the US3.5-bil Highlands Gas Joint Venture,said Feb 25 it was drawing "a line in the sand" in order to progress the long-delayed proposal to pipe gas from PNG to southeastern Australia.Oil Search has proposed the project progress to front-end engineering and design (FEED) "as soon as possible" despite failing as yet to secure the required gas customer baseload of 150 petajoules/year.
