Peruvian precious metals producerBuenaventura saw gold and zinc output dropin the first quarter, while silver and copperproduction rose.Gold output totaled 293,238 oz in thequarter, Lima-based Buenaventura said in astatement on April 11. Production was358,785 oz in the first quarter of last year,according to an earlier release. TheYanacocha mine, a joint venture withNewmont, produced 180,348 oz of gold thisyear, compared with 248,055 oz a year ago,Buenaventura said.
