The chemical sector is identified as one of the critical sectors in the nation's strategy for homeland security.With the threat of cybersecurity incidents increasing,proactive management and reduction of risk is necessary to reduce potential consequences to the chemical sector from attack.A sector-wide cybersecurity strategy was developed and delivered to the White House in 2002 and was subsequently referenced in the February 2003 release of the National Strategy to Secure Cyberspace.
