摘要

Doing business in a post-credit crunch environment in a globalised marketplace has prompted many a company to take stock of not just their bottom line or shareholder interests but also their social standing. The term 'Corporate Social Responsibility' or its much-used acronym 'CSR' has been the buzzword in boardrooms across various organisations in recent years. Critics have sometimes leveled allegations of 'window dressing' at companies deemed to have questionable or little social benefit when they announce their latest raft of CSR measures -usually in order to mitigate bad publicity - BP's Gulf of Mexico incident of 2010 comes to mind.
