E.ON Ruhrgas joins Trans Adriatic Pipeline project

Statoil and EGL report that E.ON Ruhrgas has joined the Trans Adriatic Pipeline Project with a 15% share. Statoil and EGL each now hold a 42.5% share. The proposed Trans Adriatic Pipeline calls for the construction of a 320-mile pipeline that will connect existing and planned natural gas transport grids in south-east Europe with gas systems in Western Europe via Italy, the Adriatic Sea, Albania and Greece. The companies say that E.ON Ruhrgas's long history of successful gas pipeline development will further strengthen the project. Due to regulatory requirements, the deal is expected to be concluded by the end of June.
