摘要

Above-floor wheel lathes with friction roller drive for reprofiling service-worn wheelsets were developed with the goal to drive the wheelset without producting notches during remachining. On account of the lathe operating principle, the redinished wheels have good true run properties. The point of contact between the friction rollers and the tread crest provides for an improved accuracy of the profile shape and avoids the embedding of chips by rolling. The scope of refinishing operations has been extended to include the refinishing of rims, nose suspensions and axle journals. Extended facilities are now also available for measuring axle reference data and the runout of wheelset axles and wheel and shaft brake discs.
