摘要

The current trend of using lightweight materials and alloys and composite materials in rail vehicle construction has been accompanied by an intensive application of cryogenics. Adhesive bonding is superior to other material-based joining methods; especially for thermosetting plastics, ceramics and glass as well as for combinations of different metallic and non-metallic materials. The paper covers various adhesives, the requirements for furnace preparation, the materials and designs of the components to be joined along with the advantages and disadvantages of adhesive bonding. The current and future applications of adhesive bonding are dealt with as well, and mention is made of experience regarding the long-term strength and testing of adhesive joints.
