A rare unity

Strong counter measures were agreed during the recent regional anti-smuggling conference held in Entebbe, Uganda, with participation from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) and OFIDA, Congo's tax authority. The tobacco industry was represented by British American Tobacco (BAT), and the Leaf Tobacco Company, which produces cigarettes in Uganda. Kenya's cigarette maker Mastermind Tobacco Kenya was invited but did not attend. Previous conferences were held in Kisumu and Nairobi, to prepare a united policy for East Africa.
