The influence of the relative humidity of air during storage on the formation lowering of Cr(Ⅵ) in chrome tanned leathers

摘要

The relative humidity during storage has a strong influence on the formation of Cr(Ⅵ) in chrome retanned crust fatliquored with sulphited fish oils. If the relative humidity is higher than 35%: 1. there will be no formation of Cr(Ⅵ) from Cr(Ⅲ), 2. any Cr(Ⅵ) existing in the leather will be converted to Cr(Ⅲ).
