WIPO Committee Endorses Gurry for Second Term as Director General

Key members of the World Intellectual Property Organization have recommended that incumbent WIPO Director General Francis Gurry be reappointed for a second 6-year term as head of the global IP agency. Gurry, an Australian national, easily won the endorsement March 6 of WIPO's Coordination Committee, the organization's executive body, beating out three challengers. The committee's endorsement will now be forwarded to a May 8-9 meeting of WIPO's ruling General Assembly for formal approval.
